“We wanted to build with a small footprint, minimal floor area but with the capacity to welcome and absorb large numbers of house guests without wasted space. Our favourite place is the covered deck, it’s really an outside room flowing out from the kitchen where we relax and dine all year round. Large rocks are enclosed within the deck edge, delightfully warm to sit on at the end of a sunny day and the gabion wall protects from any wind, so a barbecue in any weather is appealing. Everything works the way we anticipated and allows our business, our leisure and hospitality to happen with ease.
